People procrastinate for a number of reasons, but the main reason for procrastinating is to put off completing a task that needs to be done.
Let’s face it. When we procrastinate, we feel good, for the short term, then when the task has to be done, we put ourselves under immense pressure. It doesn’t make sense does it?
Lack of confidence can cause one to procrastinate. I found it difficult to begin writing my book, Stay, i put it off for three years! What an idiot! WHen I started to write, I couldn’t stop, it was like the flood gates had opened and you know what? That’s all you need to do too. To come to grips with procrastination, simply make a start and you’ll find the the task you dreaded, or disliked, will be easier than you first thought.
What’s unusual about chronic procrastination is, that the procrastinator is likely to suffer from depression. I don’t know whether the act (procrastination) drives the disorder (depression) or vice versa, but, my research has demonstrated that depressed people are very likely to procrastinate.
